June 2006

 Volunteer Hours:

The 2005-2006 volunteer season is now past.  Bills have been sent out to those who did not make arrangements and did not meet their requirements.

Dry Land Training:

Dryland Training will restart June 19th.  Tom suggested June 12, but Jim Kremer said the Arena is in use until the 19th.  Tom’s hours for Dryland are; 5-8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday until the fair begins.  Older players are asked to come from 7-8 to help keep things a little more organized.

Fundraisers

The new fundraising committee met on May 1.  We are trying to come up with ideas about fundraising that won’t overtax people but will help us reach our goals.

Some of the fundraising ideas which were brought up include a pancake feed, golf outing, Skratchers, and improving the other fundraisers we are already using.

There are other fundraisers that you would only find out about after looking at the association’s web site.  There are 6 organizations that if we buy from them will return a percentage to us.  In order to use this, you have to go to our website, click on fundraising, click on the site you want to buy from, then make your purchase.  Depending on which organization you use, you can get up to 20% back for the association.  The organizations are; fogdog, Sports Authority, ProAm Sports, Amazon Books, Mac Mall, and PC Mall.

Remember to buy HyVee grocery cards at Johnson Builders and Realtors or Anderson Alignement and to tell all your friends and family to use Goodsearch.com to benefit Worthington Hockey.

Registration

There will be early registration for returning players in August, this year, to help coaches plan for the upcoming year.  Registration forms will be coming so that you can fill them out ahead of time and cut down on registration time.  Registration will go up a little this next year.

High School Boys

You may have seen an ad in the paper asking for interest in head coach position for High School Boys team, and ISD518 is suppose to be pointing out this availability to all new teachers they hire.

Goalie Camp Discount

To encourage anyone interested in attending a Goalie Camp, and in an effort to help our association make improvements in goalie training, anyone Squirt and above attending a
goalie camp will get $100 off their registration fees next year.
